Darien Johnson
Darien Johnson is an emerging ceramist who experiments with ambiguous objects and images to form surreal pieces. His goal is to evoke a sense of curiosity by reorganizing mundane objects into a new and unfamiliar context. The images he uses are all computer and digital images. His reasoning is that when people draw on a memory, alterations are made on events and a new photograph is taken, one that is slightly askew and inaccurate. He uses photographs, therefore, to hold an accurate depiction of a memory, but then distorts it into a form representative of a human memory.
